Claremont pupils have taken over the very last blog of the year by sharing some of their special memories from Sports Day and the School Fete. Whilst parents couldn't attend either event this year, we hope by sharing some of the blogs that the children have written, that you can share in their excitement of the events too!

SPORTS DAY

The effort on these Key Stage 2 boys faces is reflective of the effort all children put into their relevant Sports Days.

It’s the last full week of term and with it is our last blog of the academic year.

This week the children enjoyed their Summer Fete which couldn’t have happened without the generosity of your donations of toys, teddies, sweets and time from all those who volunteered – thank you!

We think it’s fair to say the children had a fabulous time judging from the laughter and chatter. “This is the best day of my life!” and “I loved it!” were just a couple of statements we heard! Check out the photos of the event below and on our dedicated @claremontprimarypta social media pages!

Whilst there was no entry fee for children to attend, we are still collecting donations so should you wish to make a contribution, you can still do so here: Summer Fete | Localgiving. Thank you as always.

Next week, it might be the last week of term, but there are still a couple of things happening!

1) The Tea Towels have landed and are now quarantining at school. So if you ordered one, you can expect it to come home with your child/children before the end of term.

2) Tuesday 20th July: 2nd Hand Uniform Donation Morning: for any good quality uniform you no longer need. Please bring it to the Banner Farm Road field between 8.30-9.15am.

Looking further ahead to September (already?! I hear you cry!)

1) We will have our first 2nd Hand Uniform Sale of the year online over the first weekend 2nd-3rd September.

2) The PTA will be hosting socials evenings for the new parents who have joined the school in the last couple of years.

3) Last but not least our AGM will be held in September, to which everyone is invited!

We are ALWAYS keen to welcome new people to join our small charity volunteering efforts so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you think you might be interested! In particular, we would love to hear from anyone who can help with sales/corporate sponsorship, grant research/writing and running events (especially if you’d like to see the usual Clarefest and Summer Fete events come back!)

Finally, it just leaves us to say a HUGE thank you for all your support this year. Despite everything, you’ve enabled us to commit nearly £17,000 to the school, for which they are massively grateful. This went towards:

  • Continual support of ICT provision £15,000

  • £100 per classroom for teachers to spend £1,400

  • Crisps and water for Year 6 residential £12

  • Contribution to Year 6 Yearbooks £361

  • Year 6 Leavers BBQ

We wish you all a wonderful summer break and look forward to seeing you in September.

If you think you might miss us and aren’t yet following us on social media, then do join us over @claremontprimarypta in the meantime!

PTA Summer Fete 2021

What is it? A mini summer fete fun for the children; including many of the usual stalls such as sweet and teddy tombolas, arts and crafts station, sports and games station, ric a brac, traditional fete games such as hook a duck.

When is it? Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th July (Weds 14th poor weather back up), in school time.

Why? To give the children some semi-normal fun after all the trials of this year. They know it's happening and are very excited already!

How will it work? Every year group will get an allocated time slot to enjoy the activities & each child given a number of tokens to "spend" at the stalls as they wish. We will seek donations from parents in due course but no child will be excluded.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Can you help:

- plan and run the arts/crafts stall, the sports stand or the toy raffle - either leading or working as a small team with other volunteers - perhaps you have a group of friends who can get together to run one?,

- help set up on Sunday 11th July,

- man a stall on 12th or 13th, either in the morning: 9-1pm or afternoon: 1-3pm

- tidy up on both 12th or 13th from 3-4pm (your children can play in the school playground if necessary).

If you're able to help, please email Sara specifying when/how: saratitmuss@hotmail.com

DONATIONS WELCOME!

To ensure we can run the usual stalls that the children love (tomolas of sweets, toys and teddies), we are looking for donations of the following items:

· Individually wrapped Sweets (e.g. Starburst, Maom etc); NO NUTS please.

· Good quality, clean Soft Toys and Teddies

· Good quality used DVDs (U or PG) and Childrens Books

· Toys and Games that are brand new and/or nearly new or in good working order

There will be Donation Bins at each entrance to the school at MORNING DROP OFF every day next week - Tuesday 22nd to Friday 25th June.

THANK YOU!

For your continued support to the school and the PTA. We do appreciate that this is very short notice & our requests just keep coming (don't worry..it's the summer hols soon!) but we would hugely appreciate any donations or time you're able to offer to help make this a success for the children.
