We can’t really believe it’s the last term of the year either but here we are! We thought we’d use the blog this week to tell you about the plans for this term and some recent funding commitments that we have agreed with the school.

There are 3 main things happening this term that you need to know about:

1. TEA TOWELS!

This is a popular activity whereby the children draw self-portraits which the PTA miraculously turn into bespoke tea towels for each year group. You can BUY NOW on the EVENTS PAGE of this website. Sale ends until 18th June and they will be given to your child by the end of term. One tea towel is £4 or you can get 3 for £10.

2. SUMMER FETE!

Roll up! Roll up! For Claremont’s first ever Covid-secure in-school children-only summer fete! We will be planning some of the usual summer fete activities for the children in the last week of term. Each year group will get a dedicated time slot to visit the summer fete on either 12th or 13th July. More information will follow how you can donate to support this event. We would also love MORE VOLUNTEERS to help plan and run the event so if you’re able to help, however small or large, please email claremonttwpta@gmail.com .

3. ONLINE SECOND HAND UNIFORM SALES - Back by popular demand!

Donation mornings: 28th June & 20th July, School field, Banner Farm Rd.

Online sales: 3rd/4th July (for collection 8th July) and 4th/5th September (for collection 9th Sept).

Please save the dates & check our website and social media for more details.

FUNDING COMMITMENTS:

This year, the PTA has committed £16,773 to the school:

- £15,000 for critical I.T. provision.

- £1,400 “classroom contribution” so each class teacher has £100 they can spend as they need to, on items for their classroom.

- £361 subsidy for the Year 6 year book.

- £12 emergency provisions from the Year 6 trip.

We couldn’t have done this without you so THANK YOU for your continued support!

This week the PTA have been busy putting the finishing touches to its first ever online auction! We have heaps of exciting lots for you to bid for including Dinner for 4 with prosecco at the Lodge, a £200 voucher for The Lyle restaurant and an £80 voucher for SW1 Hair. It'll be going live on Wednesday 26th May so keep an eye out for the link next week.

Our next 2nd hand uniform sale goes live tomorrow at 8am until 8pm Sunday 23rd. If you missed out last time there's plenty of good quality summer uniform but stock does get allocated on a first come first served basis so get in early to avoid any disappointment! The uniform page will open here on the website at 8am tomorrow for you to to place your order.

Huge thanks to everyone who braved the elements and supported the family 5k last week. It raised a whopping £2,300 from ticket sales and sponsorship combined! Congratulations to Oscar in Acorns whose family won the picnic hamper donated by our sponsors Batchellor Monkhouse.

Remember all monies raised this year are going towards I.T. provision & the new outdoor classroom.

The PTA Committee met this week and discussed our plans for Term 6. This will include selling tea towels designed by the children and a mini summer fete within school for the children to enjoy within their year groups. We will also have a virtual raffle with some fabulous prizes to be won!

Our Secretary position remains vacant - if you think you might be interested please email Claire at claremonttwpta@gmail.com to find out more.

Thanks as always for your support.

A warm welcome to the Claremont PTA’s brand new website! Here you will find news about what we’re up to, information on how to get involved and soon will be the place to buy tickets to our events/promotions.

We are currently fundraising for a brand new outdoor classroom and want to repeat our annual contribution to the school’s I.T. resources. This is challenging in current times due to the restrictions in place for events, so every bit of your support is so very much appreciated in whatever way you can offer, be that time, skills, or donations.

Remember every parent/guardian with a pupil at the school is automatically a member of the PTA, so if you think you can help in any way, we’d love to hear from you.
